Life Health Care Organization (LHCO)

Life Health Care Organization (LHCO) is an organization striving to address the gap in the availability of low cost primary health care in rural areas. We provide health care facilities to the lowest strata of the socio-economic pyramid; the goal of LHCO is to set up primary health care centers in the remotest areas of the country, providing OPD facilities as well as medication to the low income, hard to reach population in India. LHCO is currently working in Rajiv Nagar, Delhi and want to spread across various districts of India and has since inception served over 2 lakhs of patients through its network.

Life Health Care Organization inspiration from the Late Mohammad Umar (Expired in 2013), symptomatic of the undying spirit of man. Diagnosed with Cancer at the tender age of 10, his early days were spent through the pains of chemo-therapy and radio-therapy. During this phase a sense dawned upon him that it was the power of affordability in terms of good doctors and expensive medicines that he is battling this disease, which is beyond the reach of many. An urge to reach out to the millions who have been deprived of medical assistance due to poverty kept bothering him. This urge made him uncomfortable, as a result of which he decided to discontinue his business. All his present and future financial achievements seemed to him to be completely baseless since he realized that monetary gains will never bring him true happiness. His urge turned to action. Along with his elder Son Dr. Hanif founded, opening its first primary health care centre at Rajiv Nagar, Delhi. The trust has tieups with many hospitals and provides free Medical Consultation. Medications are also arranged free of cost. This tree of efforts is sure to yield fruits when people start to live a healthier life in rural areas

The health care sector in India is plagued with poor infrastructure, long wait times, high diagnostic costs and extensive travel for treatment. While 78% of the Indian population resides in rural areas, only 2% of medical professionals are available in these areas. In the absence of any organized modern medical facilities, the rural poor fall victim to under qualified doctors in the vicinity of their homes, who extract large sums of money for even basic treatment. The only other alternative available is to travel to private hospitals located in urban areas, an activity which is both tedious and expensive. It is the gap in the availability of low cost primary health care that the innovation is striving to address.

Life Health Care Organization aims to create a chain of clinics that provide high quality affordable outpatient care in low-income densely populated regions of INDIA, characterized by dearth of adequate quality primary health care. LHCO clinics provide an all in price health care service that is cheaper than that ultimately paid at a private clinic or in travelling long distances to access government clinics. Life Health Care Organization has a sound and scalable business model with potential for delivering impact to low-income communities. The idea is to develop each rural centre as a self sustaining unit, so it may continue to deliver services without any external support. The key elements of the Innovation are: Each primary health care clinic is equipped two General Medicine departments. (Emergency services are not provided). There is one doctor in each department and five support staffs assist them. The centers identify needy patients and arrange for free surgeries in collaboration with other Hospitals. In order to motivate doctors to continue in service they are provided free food and boarding facilities. Patients are provided with wheel chair, crutches with subsidized rate and free medicines also have been distributed.

Our mission is to eradicate the lack of health care facilities in rural India by creating a chain of primary health care units that offer high quality, affordable outpatient care in low income, densely populated regions, where health care delivery by the state is sparse. Our vision is to set up primary health care centers in the remotest corners of India, replicating our current service delivery model. We intend to scale up and establish 50 additional centers in the next five years in the most rural areas of India and over 100 new centers in the next ten years, throughout the length and breadth of our country. The provision for a mobile hospital equipped to provide basic medical services at the doorstep of the poorest is also envisioned us.

How Can you Help.
